The Mississippi State University Building Construction Science student team won third place in the Region II Design Build competition in Peachtree City, Georgia, in spring 2018. The competition is sponsored by the Associated General Contractors.

Required Materials and Fees for BCS Students
The Building Construction Science degree program has some additional fees for materials, field trips, and other items that enhance our students鈥 education. The program strives to be able to offer comparatively low lab fees thanks to support from alumni and friends.
Students also need to purchase a variety of tools and materials to help them succeed in their studio coursework.

Advising Guidelines
- Advising is available to and encouraged of all students.
- A signup sheet to meet with your advisor will be posted in the main office.
- It is the student鈥檚 responsibility to sign鈥恥p for an advising appointment. If you do not participate in advising, it is assumed that you understand the process and take responsibility for your registration.

Building Construction Science Students
The Department of Building Construction Science at Mississippi State University is designed to prepare students for careers in construction and construction-related fields. The studio-based program is one of just two programs of its kind in the nation.

BCS Women鈥檚 Forum
The BCS Women鈥檚 Forum is an organization established to support females in the Department of Building Construction Science. The group discusses obstacles faced by women in the construction industry and supports networking and mentorship opportunities. All students are welcome to join.
