I decided to come to CAAD at ¹ú²úBT because of the unique opportunities and the high job after graduation rate that are offered within this college. I don't know of any other college that offers actual hands-on construction and provide real world challenges for the students.

Growing up I have been surrounded by design and construction, so naturally I gravitated towards that field. My parents are both Mississippi State graduates, so I had been looking to attend Mississippi State for my whole life. Upon finding the Building Construction Science department, I knew that I had found where I needed to be. The hands-on aspect and the community of CAAD at ¹ú²úBT are second to none.

I was drawn toward CAADat¹ú²úBT due to the accomplished programs within CAAD. I've been passionate about architecture, construction, and design since I was a child; therefore, when surveying architecture and construction programs throughout the southeast, Mississippi State's Building Construction Science Department quickly stood out amongst the choices. The studio-based curriculum and overall approach here is unique, along with the added value and comradery present at ¹ú²úBT.

I grew up working with my dad in construction, and when I found out about the BCS department there was no doubt in my mind that’s what I was going to do.
Favorite spot on campus?
I’d say Howell Building because all my friends study there.
If you could go back and tell your high school self one thing, what would it be?
Enjoy high school more and don’t stress over grades; they don’t matter as much until you get to college.
